Prebisch Reciprocity Principle. An Application for the Common Automotive Policy between Argentina and Brazil
Keywords:
Automotive Parts, Common Automotive Policy, Prebisch, Reciprocity PrincipleAbstract
This article will examine the implications of economic policy associated to the “reciprocity principle” enunciated by Prebisch (1959), through an empirical analysis for the case of the Common Automotive Policy (CAP) held between Argentina and Brazil. In particular, it aims to assess the impact of the CAP on the dynamic and the configuration of the auto parts trade in the bloc, and, in light of these results, examine and discuss the negotiation agenda proposed by the Argentine government in Protocol 40° signed in 2014.
