Objectives and Scope

Ensayos Económicos (Economic Essays) is the BCRA´s academic journal. It was published for the first time between 1977 and 1990, it had a second stage between 2006 and 2016 and the last one began in 2020.

The journal is aimed at publishing economic papers which deal with the Argentine and the international economy from a theoretical, empirical or applied policy viewpoint, and promotes dialogue among different schools of economic thought, ultimately contributing to devise and assess policies to face the challenges posed by the Argentine economy in its process for development.

Publications involve papers subject to a double-blind peer-review process, and papers written by invited authors. Ensayos Económicos will be released twice a year, in May and November.

Interested people are invited to send their academic papers for publication, thus contributing to uplift discussion about economics and economic policy in Argentina.
